Alia Bhatt has played the lead role in A-list director Karan Johar’s 2012 Bollywood movie ‘Student Of The Year‘. She is the daughter of prolific director Mahesh Bhatt & a film actress and director Soni Razdan. Moreover, the famous actress-director Pooja Bhatt (who has directed Jism 2 starring Sunny Leone) is her step-sister and actor Emraan Hashmi is her cousin. Even though her father is an acclaimed director and who has launched many stars in his movies, Alia decided against a launching by her father. She went on to audition for Karan Johar’s new movie and got selected in less than one week’s time. Karan Johar had only condition, that she should lose weight.
Alia completed her High School from Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai. She made her acting debut as a child artist in 1999 movie Sangharsh produced by her uncle Mukesh Bhatt.
She said in a recent interview that she wanted to be a Bollywood actress ever since she was 4 years old.
