Very much in news these days because of her imminent release “Student Of The Year” the actress is born on March 15th, 1993 to the famous Indian Film Director, Producer and Screenwriter “Mahesh Bhatt” and the British born Indian Actress and director “Soni Razdan”.

Alia first appeared as a child artist in the film “Sangharsh”(1999), She presented the younger Preity Zinta in the film.
Her career as a lead in Bollywood however will be started with the upcoming release “Student Of The Year” as Shanaya Singhania with co-stars newcomers Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan (Son of David Dhawan).

The 19 years old, Alia has got a lot of Bollywood connections and has already earned the names such as “filmy family girl” and “Powerhouse Of Talent” in the news. Though approached by a lot of producers and directors, the actress is patient and choosy about taking new assignments in hand. Also, she never wanted to start her career on her father’s name. Alia lost 14Kg of weight in three months before appearing for the auditions. She gave the audition on her own and got selected among 500 girls.

Alia will be playing the lead role of Ananya in the movie while the Punjabi boy Krish will be played by Ishaqjaade fame and Bony Kapoor’s Son Arjun Kapoor.

Alia resembles her step-sister Pooja Bhatt. Though step-sisters, their relation is said to be very strong. Pooja has also decided to cast her in the remake of “Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi”. Aamir Khan’s character will be played by Imraan Khan.

According to sources, the actress is currently dating her co-star Varun Dhawan; when asked they both replied they were simply trying to get more familiar with each other before they face the camera.
